LiteLang: a SaaS for English tutors, from idea to paid subscriptions

Strymba’s in-house product: a workspace where English tutors run lessons and schedules, review homework, keep materials, and work with students and ready-made courses. We built the platform, the promo website, and SEO ourselves: work started in March 2026, and subscriptions have been paid since October.

The product and the brief

LiteLang, a workspace for English tutors, is Strymba’s in-house product. In one place, a tutor runs lessons and the schedule, reviews homework, keeps materials, and works with students and ready-made courses. The platform lives at app.litelang.com.ua, and the promo website runs in Ukrainian and English.

Without a tool like this, a tutor’s schedule lives in chat threads, materials sit in folders, and homework arrives as separate messages. We set out to bring that work into one service and take it all the way to paid subscriptions. We built LiteLang entirely in-house: the product, UX/UI design, custom web application development, the promo website, promotion, SEO, and support. The LiteLang blog explains why LiteLang was built from a student’s point of view.

Lessons, homework, and materials

The platform is built around a board for each student or group. Lessons sit on a kanban board in the Upcoming, Done, and To review columns and move between them by drag and drop, while the calendar shows the same schedule by day, week, and month.

  • Classes: a lesson link and a reminder by email and Telegram 30 minutes before class.
  • Homework: a cycle of submit, return for rework, and accept, with a feedback history. A student attaches several files and writes right on an image, and the tutor adds corrections in the same place.
  • Materials: a media library on Cloudflare R2 with storage quotas per plan. Photos, PDFs, audio, and video open inside the platform, and one file can go into different lessons without another upload.

Courses, vocabulary, and AI

  • Ready-made courses and templates: four platform courses (A1, A2, a conversation club, and Business English) plus custom board templates that a tutor saves for future students.
  • Template from a textbook: a tutor uploads a PDF, and Claude by Anthropic splits it into units and lessons. The tutor reviews the result, which is how we approach AI integration in a product.
  • Student vocabulary: translation options from Microsoft Translator and word pronunciation through Azure AI Speech. Students listen to each word and mark the ones they have learned.

Students, parents, payments, and support

  • Reports: progress reports for students and monthly reports for parents, by email or Telegram.
  • Passwordless sign-in: an SMS code, an email code, Google, or a code from the Telegram bot.
  • Notifications by email and in Telegram, including homework submissions.
  • Payments: a monobank subscription with the first 20 days free.
  • Support and admin: a support chat inside the platform and a widget on the promo website, plus an admin panel for promo content, the blog, users, and support requests.
  • Interface: seven languages (Ukrainian, English, Spanish, Polish, German, French, and Italian) with light and dark themes.

Promo website and SEO

Alongside the platform, we built the promo website on Astro. It runs on Cloudflare Workers with edge caching, has Ukrainian and English versions linked with hreflang, and includes a blog with JSON-LD markup, a technical foundation for SEO.

  • an SE Ranking audit on 16 October 2026 scored 96 out of 100 with no errors;
  • PageSpeed Insights on 20 October 2026 for the Ukrainian and English homepages: performance 92–96 on mobile and 100 on desktop.

Timeline and stack

Work on LiteLang started in March 2026, and the first release went to production on 20 August. Since then, the product has shipped in short releases.

The platform runs on Laravel 13, Inertia 3, React 19 with TypeScript, Tailwind 4, and shadcn/ui, with data in MySQL and files in Cloudflare R2. As of 8 October 2026, more than 3,000 Pest tests covered the code, and static analysis runs on PHPStan level 7.

The result

From the start of work in March to paid subscriptions in October 2026:

  • since 10 October 2026, monobank has processed real subscription payments;
  • since October 2026, real tutors have been working on the platform;
  • 57 releases shipped between 20 August and 20 October 2026.

We launch and grow LiteLang ourselves, so we own the whole product journey, from feature decisions to releases, promotion, and user support. We can take your SaaS product along the same path, from an idea to paid subscriptions.
